🦹On May 28, 2025, at the Head Office of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), a formal ceremony was held to announce the appointment of the new Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of BIDV Insurance Corporation (BIC).

This leadership restructuring marks a strategic milestone for BIC as it enters its 20th year of establishment—a significant phase in its ongoing journey to strengthen its position as a reputable non-life insurance provider in the Vietnamese market. Earlier, during the 2025 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders held on May 8, 2025, shareholders elected the Board of Directors and Supervisory Board of BIC for the 2025-2030 term. The newly elected Board comprises individuals with extensive leadership experience and strong governance capabilities aligned with international standards, representing the interests of BIC’s two major shareholders, BIDV and Fairfax Financial Holdings. Mr. Tran Hoai An received the highest number of votes among the elected Board members, reflecting the strong confidence and support from shareholders. Ms. Doan Thi Thu Huyen was also elected as a member of the Board of Directors. At the inaugural Board meeting following the General Meeting, the new BIC’s Board of Directors unanimously appointed Mr. Tran Hoai An as Chairman of the Board. Concurrently, the Board of Directors and Executive Management reached a consensus to nominate Mr. Tran Hoai An for the official position of Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Ms. Doan Thi Thu Huyen for the position of Chief Executive Officer, subject to approval by the Ministry of Finance. Mr. Tran Hoai An, Master of Business Administration, joined BIDV Insurance Corporation (BIC) in 2009 and has since held numerous senior leadership positions, including: Director of BIC Binh Dinh, Director of BIC Ho Chi Minh, Deputy CEO, CEO and Member of the Board of Directors. With nearly two decades of extensive experience and in-depth market insights of the non-life insurance sector, Mr. Tran Hoai An is expected to steer BIC into a new era of development, backed by a strategic vision and robust execution capabilities.

Ms. Doan Thi Thu Huyen, also holding a Master of Business Administration, has has served as Deputy CEO of BIC since 2012. Prior to joining BIC, she held several key roles at BIDV, including Head of Department and Deputy Director of BIDV’s Human Resources Department. With strong expertise in banking and finance, comprehensive understanding of corporate systems, and customer segmentation, and extensive experience in human capital management and business operations, Ms. Huyen is well-positioned to contribute meaningfully to BIC’s next phase of growth.

In 2025 – a landmark year marking BIC’s 20th anniversary—the corporation has set forth ambitious performance targets: parent company’s direct written premiums are projected to reach VND5,600 billion, reflecting a growth of over 10% compared to 2024; Consolidated profit before tax is expected to reach VND710 billion, an increase of 10% year-on-year; Charter capital is targeted to increase to VND2,020 billion, positioning BIC among the top four non-life insurers in Vietnam in terms of charter capital. Starting from 2026, in addition to maintaining its commitment to a minimum annual cash dividend payout of 10%, BIC plans to implement a capital increase strategy by issuing stock dividends. The issuance ratio will be aligned with annual business performance. This capital enhancement initiative aims to reinforce BIC’s financial strength, enable greater investment in technology, diversify its insurance product portfolio, and improve overall customer experience.
