On 19 October 2016, the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) announced an immediate release of cash assistance worth nearly VND2.9 billion to provinces and families affected by the recent flood in the central provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Ha Tinh and Nghe An.

​Mrs. Le Thi Kim Khuyen, BIDV board member and chairman of BIDV Trade Union, said: “BIDV sent teams to directly visit and give cash assistance worth VND10 million to each family with dead and missing people. Also, to assist the four provinces in overcoming the aftermath of the flood and rehabilitation operations, BIDV donated VND600 million to Quang Binh province, VND500 million to Quang Tri province, and VND300 million to Nghe An, Ha Tinh each”. BIDV hopes that the donation and support from the bank as well as the people throughout the country would help ease the difficulties and devastation caused by the flood to the local people in the north central provinces.
