On 21 May 2021, in response to the State Bank of Vietnam, BIDV presented VND25 billion to Ministry of Health for Covid-19 vaccine purchase.

This donation of BIDV will directly support the government agencies to carry out the pandemic fight. Previously, as soon as the pandemic broke out in some provinces, BIDV immediately sent donations to support provinces naming Vinh Phuc, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, and K Hospital, totaling VND5 billion. To sum up, the donation BIDV has given to the pandemic fight in 2020 and 2021 is VND70 billion.

Addressing at the event, Mr.Nguyen Thanh Long, Minister of Health, acknowledged and highly appreciated the support of the banking industry for the fight against COVID-19 pandemic. The funded amount has well spent on the people in need and the health sector during the COVID-19 pandemic. The support from the banking industry, contributed by 4 commercial banks totaling VND100 billion, will be used to purchase vaccines. Vaccination is the key solution that could help life return to normal and contribute to the economic development. At the event, SBV Governor Nguyen Thi Hong emphasized that the banking sector would strive to accompany the Government in general and the Ministry of Health in particular in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
